NEPIRC is a not-for-profit technical assistance firm that provides world-class assessment, performance evaluation, training and consultative services to small and mid-sized manufacturers throughout northeastern, the northern tier and parts of central Pennsylvania.

As the only firm of its kind across a highly-industrialized 11-county region of Pennsylvania, NEPIRC gives over 1,000 firms and more than 44,000 manufacturing employees access to the training and consultative expertise they need to grow and thrive in an ever-changing and highly-competitive global manufacturing economy.

NEPIRC’s operations, achievements and client success stories have garnered international acclaim and resulted in NEPIRC’s attainment of Center of Excellence designation from the U.S. Department of Commerce and receipt of two (2) international awards for Excellence in Economic Development from the International Economic Development Council – one in 2016 and other in 2021.

NEPIRC is an affiliate of the Pennsylvania Industrial Resource Center Network – the Commonwealth’s flagship program for advancing Pennsylvania’s small and mid-sized manufacturing economy – and of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Program National Network™, a unique National Institute of Standards & Technology public-private partnership that delivers comprehensive, proven solutions to U.S. manufacturers to fuel growth and advance U.S. manufacturing. These affiliations give NEPIRC access to the expertise of six (6) partnered Industrial Resource Centers across Pennsylvania and 51 other MEP Program affiliates located in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. Together, NEPIRC brings the knowledge and experience of more than 1,300 trusted manufacturing experts and advisors to its clients.

Our Service Area

NEPIRC serves the manufacturing communities and businesses throughout Bradford, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Wayne and Wyoming counties. Within those 11 counties, manufacturing is the 3rd largest private employment sector in terms of total employment and 2nd largest in terms of total compensation provided to its workforce. Within our region, manufacturers employ more than 44,000 full-time workers and supports more than 100,000 downstream jobs in support sectors such as logistics and transportation, warehousing, equipment and vehicle maintenance, waste removal and recycling, retail, food service, accounting, utilities and others.
