Youth Apprenticeship Program Coordinator
NEPIRC and NTIEC (the Northern Tier Industry & Education Consortium) are seeking a Youth Apprenticeship Program Coordinator for their joint efforts in Luzerne County. The Coordinator’s primary responsibilities will be to establish credit-earning youth apprentice and internship programs within regional high schools, securing manufacturers’ agreement to provide compensated youth apprentice opportunities in alignment with those programs, enlisting schools to provide students to fill those apprentice opportunities, and monitoring apprentice program performance and results.
Key performance metrics associated with this opportunity are the number of Luzerne County high schools that participate in apprentice, internship and other school-to-industry transition programs, the number of companies that sponsor apprentice positions and the number of students placed within apprentice opportunities.
This full-time position requires demonstrated success in dealing with school officials, teachers, industry leaders and students. A college degree is preferred, but not required. Candidates will be expected to participate in a variety of background checks as part of the interview process.
The annual salary for this position will range from $34,000 to $40,000 plus benefits, depending upon applicant experience. The Youth Apprenticeship Program Coordinator will work out of NEPIRC’s Hanover Township offices.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Act as a liaison between NEPIRC/NTIEC and the manufacturing community:
- Learn about career opportunities in manufacturing that are suitable for individuals entering the workforce, as well as projected future manufacturing employment needs.
- Meet with manufacturers to identify unmet pre-employment education and training needs/expectations and relay that information to NEPIRC, NTIEC, local schools, colleges, etc…
- Enlist manufacturers to provide work-based learning experiences (internships, youth apprentice programs, mentorship opportunities, etc…) to high school juniors and seniors.
- Work with manufacturers to identify and place work-based experience participants, monitor their performance, ensure mutual satisfaction and report upon results.
Act as a liaison between NEPIRC/NTIEC and the educational community:
- Meet with school administrators, teachers, counselors and other school-based employees to inform them of the importance, benefits and practicality of work-based learning approaches for students.
- Facilitate the development of school-to-industry transition systems that will enable students to make informed career choices and learn the skills necessary to pursue their career of choice (career awareness programs, job shadowing programs, youth apprenticeship programs, etc…).
- Develop and deliver in-school or out-of-school (i.e. “field trip”) career awareness events (career days, career fairs, in-class speakers, etc…) for regional youth.
- Enlist schools to provide students for work-based experiences (internships, youth apprentice programs, mentorship opportunities, etc…).
Other responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver presentations to promote programs as needed (students, parents, teachers, administrators and/or industry).
- Provide regular progress updates to NEPIRC and NTIEC Executive Directors.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Availability for full-time employment (40 hrs/wk) plus occasional evening work.
- College degree in business or industry is desired, but not required.
- Individuals with demonstrated results in taking the initiative to serve the needs of young people and industry will be considered.
- Dependable transportation is required, as is willingness to travel to regional schools, employers, meetings, job sites, etc….
- Must be a self-starter and capable of working independently to produce results.
- Salary is negotiable based on education and experience.

- # of Luzerne County high schools participating in school-to-industry transition systems, primarily youth apprenticeship programs.
- # of manufacturers sponsoring work-based learning experiences, primarily youth apprenticeship programs.
- # of students participating in activities, primarily youth apprenticeship programs.

Director of Business Development
NEPIRC is seeking a Director of Business Development with experience in developing strategic relationships with key manufacturing clients and managing the activities of a small team of business development professionals. To be considered, candidates must have a proven track record of cultivating their own sales by calling on manufacturing CEOs, CFOs, Plant Managers and Department Managers, identifying their challenges, quantifying the financial benefits of a proposed solution and closing fee-based service opportunities. Candidates must also have quantifiable success in supervising, coaching and mentoring other sales team members in areas such as managing their territories, maximizing their time, properly evaluating prospect opportunities, developing winning proposals and closing the sale. This is a high-level position, with both supervisory and direct sales responsibility, that reports directly to the Executive Director/CEO. The primary performance metrics associated with this position is fee-based sales generated by the individual and his/her team.
This position, as well as all direct reports to this position, will represent all of NEPIRC’s services, including Process Improvement, Business Growth, Leadership Development, and Quality Systems consulting.
Qualified candidates will possess an advanced degree in a business discipline, at least five years of successful business development experience in a service setting, with supervision responsibilities preferred, and demonstrated in-depth familiarity with the manufacturing industry. Existing relationships with manufacturing clients is a plus.

Senior Business Solutions Advisor
NEPIRC is seeking a Senior Business Solutions Advisor with a passion for being a part of improving the success and growth of northeastern Pennsylvania’s manufacturers. To be considered, candidates must have a proven track record of cold calling on manufacturing CEOs, CFOs, Plant Managers and Department Managers, identifying their challenges, quantifying the financial benefits of a proposed solution and developing a strong pipeline of closed sales and potential sales through direct client contact and prospecting.
