NEPIRC Board of Directors Supports Local Robotics Team – The Board of Directors of NEPIRC recently provided support to the Tunkhannock High School Tigertrons Robotics Team to further their progression through the national U.S. First Robotics Competition. With NEPIRC support, the team went on to win the Rockwell Automation Innovation in Control Award and placed as a Finalist in the Mid-Atlantic Region competition and Semi-Finalist in two other competitions across the country.
Regionally-Manufacturer Products Highlighted During Career Days – Eric Joseph Esoda, Executive Director of NEPIRC recently highlighted the everyday products used by students and their families at several Career Day events throughout Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties. In total, over 300 students, ranging from 4th grade through high school Juniors, became more aware of the range of food, household, medical, construction and military products made across the northeastern and northern tier regions of Pennsylvania.
NEPIRC Kicks off Reshoring Initiative – NEPIRC is spearheading a statewide initiative to bring manufacturing jobs back to Pennsylvania. Through collaboration with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Partners for Regional Economic Performance, Workforce Investment Boards, and other Industrial Resource Centers across Pennsylvania, NEPIRC will assist companies in more accurately assessing their total cost of offshore production or foreign sourcing of supply chain inputs and help them to find a Pennsylvania-based supply chain alternative.
