Leo Gilroy, NEPIRC’s Director of Strategy & Leadership Development, has recently been awarded Kaplan-Norton Balanced Scorecard certification. The Balanced Scorecard methodology is a strategic planning and management system used extensively in business and industry, government, and nonprofit organizations worldwide.
This certification is awarded to business consultants who have successfully completed training and have proven their ability to align business activities to the vision and strategy of an organization, improve internal and external communications, and monitor organizational performance against strategic goals.
As part of his certification process, Mr. Gilroy was required to illustrate, in theory and real-world implementation, his command of the body of knowledge and methodologies associated with the Balanced Scorecard and Strategy Mapping principles of Kaplan-Norton. More than 70 percent of Fortune 500 companies currently use a Balanced Scorecard approach to drive strategic planning, plan implementation and daily execution. Mr. Gilroy’s peer group for his certification process included executives from Oracle Corporation, First Commonwealth Financial Corporation, Merck & Co., Inc., GlaxoSmithKline and others.

Mr. Gilroy has more than 25 years of diverse industrial and Department of Defense experience with positions in engineering, product/business development, marketing and sales. He has used his experience to aid organizations throughout northeastern Pennsylvania as well as in Europe, the Far East and Southeast Asia.
